Join us in the gallery with Peter J. Haas, Abba Hillel Silver Professor Emeritus, for a conversation about the first armistice ending Israel’s War of Independence which was signed with Egypt in February 1949. Although Israel ostensibly won the war, it was a hardfought series of battles whose outcomes were not always clear at the beginning. We look at how the war unfolded in its various phases and why the outcomes were what they were. Coffee will be served. Very limited seating. Registration strongly recommended.
