Championing the strain of “Mexo-Americana music” (a blend of Mexican Son and Americana), David Wax Museum contemporizes a musical tradition that extends back to the 18th century. Singer David Wax plays the jarana, which is similar to the guitar. Suz Slezak joins him on vocals and fiddle and, interestingly, quijada, which is a percussion instrument crafted from a donkey’s jawbone. Tonight's performance take place at 8 p.m. at the Beachland Tavern. Tickets cost $17 in advance, $20 at the door.
