Daniel Bachman (in Mahall's Apartment)

“Psychedelic Appalachia” is how guitarist Daniel Bachman describes his music. The sparse guitar arrangements have a back-porch feel, even if Bachman sometimes opts for riffs that are more blues-based. By using steel strings on his instrument, he also gives the songs a bit more bite so they come off as slightly more aggressive than what you’d expect from someone essentially playing bluegrass. Bachman, who began touring and recording at age 17, has released a huge collection of music in a short amount of time, giving him a huge repertoire from which to draw for this show. (Jeff Niesel)
