Crystal Stilts/Your Friend/Juan Waters

If you’re into the retro sounds of the Velvet Underground and proto-punk bands of the late '70s, you’ll love Crystal Stilts. Almost a revival act, the group plays a retrospective mix of psychedelic jams and garage bands from decades past. The just released single “Delirium Tremendous” starts with a zap that blasts you with a bouncing rhythm. It's smoothed out by organ and singer Brad Hargett’s velvety baritone vocals. The band has described the track as “a near death taking you half way into heaven or hell.” It's an apt description. Crystal Stilts’ most recent full-length, Nature Noir is a softer take on their classic sound, emanating with the alternative sounds of the '70s. (Gonzalez)
