The recently rejuvenated local alt-country act Copperfoot has been around for nearly a decade. But nothing it’s done in the past measures up to its new album, Little Red, a glorious rawk record that draws from the Southern rock well and ushers in comparisons to the Black Crowes and The Allman Brothers. Guitarist Jeff Boyer has a distinctive sneer that gives songs such as “Little Red Wagon” and “Jennie Lee” a real edge. He can also switch gears for ballads such as “Country Radio” and “Pass My Way.” These guys have long existed underneath the radar; with any luck, this album will get some deserved attention.
