Cleveland Big Wheel Relay

If that nagging itch to hop back on your favorite childhood Big Wheel trike is getting to you with the creeping beauty of sunny summer weather — though this would be an odd thing to admit — you’re covered this weekend with the Big Wheel Relay at Shaker Square. Using adult-size versions of the kid-favorite mode of transportation, teams of four will take to the blacktop for a single-elimination tournament until the winner is crowned the Big Wheel Champion. It won’t be possible to take your “mad triking skills” seriously anyway, so unify your team with the most fun costumes you can think of (does a team based on the ’90s cartoon Rugrats sound perfect to anybody else?) and you’ll walk away with even more swag, literal and figurative. To register, teams need to raise a minimum of $200, which will support the Cleveland Hearing and Speech Center. (Jacob DeSmit)
