As we're nearly halfway to Christmas, Tremont's A Christmas Story House & Museum is ready to celebrate. While the house commemorates the holiday season no matter the month, today's annual Christmas in July festivities feature special guests and goodies. This year's guest stars include Patty Johnson, a cranky elf from A Christmas Story and even Santa Claus himself. Johnson will be in the gift shop from 3 to 5 p.m., signing pictures, telling stories about the film and inspiring visitors to quit dragging their feet, just like she did when the Parkers went to Higbee's in the 1983 film classic. Also, expect a kids' table, face paint, and themed Jack Frost Donuts, featuring movie icons like the infamous leg lamp, pink bunnies and air rifles. Then go try the Red Ryder air rifle range in the museum's backyard. Finally, in preparation for this year's bumpus-themed 5-K/10-K race, A Christmas Story Run, the house has invited the Cleveland Animal Protective League and City Dogs to bring adoptable canines out to the event.
