Chinese History

A Chinese filmmaker, photographer and installation artist, Yang Fudong takes on ancient Chinese history in his epic five-part, four-hour film Seven Intellectuals in a Bamboo Forest. To make viewing a bit more managable, the Cleveland Museum of Art will just screen Parts 1 and 4 tonight at 6:30 p.m. Case Western Reserve University professor Noelle Giuffrida, a specialist in East Asian art, will introduce the film.
