Born of Osiris/Unearth/the Contortionist/Wolves at the Gates

With more name changes than full-lengths, Born of Osiris haven't so much become a powerhouse in the progressive metal scene, but more of a worthy contender. The Chicago five-piece made waves with its 2009 debut full-length A Higher Place, which sold some 600,000 copies and yielded their first video with the single "Now Arise." Released just last year, the follow-up, The Discovery, was the only album guitarist Jason Richardson appeared on before unknowingly being dropped from the band (later to join Chelea Grin). Since then, fans have argued whether Born of Osiris are the same without Richardson, apparently ignorant of the fact that he wasn't an original part of the metalcore band when it formed in 2003.
