: Downtempo electronic dance musician, Bonobo (Sam Green), has been steadily widening the scope of his productions since 2000’s Animal Magic. The UK artist has recorded with the likes of Erykah Badu, Andreya Triana and more, often supplementing his live performances with guest artists. Bonobo brings an organic feel to his DJ sets that often drift between house music and jazz tunes. Check out “Towers” on last year’s The North Borders, a simple dark song featuring singer Szjerdene’s sweet vocals accompanied by clear bell-like guitars and laid-back percussion. A beat on “Ten Tigers” sounds like a typewriter from the future. Expect to hear some tunes from Bonobo’s forthcoming live album to be released in October. (Eric Gonzalez)
