You say National Bike Month is passing you by? Today’s Bike for Beck fest is full of good reasons to pull on the spandex and ride. The multi-faceted fundraiser capitalizes on Clevelanders growing passion for pedaling with three main events: a trio of bike tours through the Metroparks set at 12, 25, or 60 miles, a half-mile Lakewood bike parade, and an all-day arts-and-music fest that includes visits from local food trucks. According to the wonks at something called the American Community Survey, Lakewood is the most bikeable city in Ohio. “This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate that fact, while introducing the Beck Center to new audiences,” says Lucinda Einhouse, Beck’s president and CEO. Plus, registration fees for the tours ($40) and parade ($5) help fund Beck’s arts education programs. Register in advance online, or in person beginning today at 9 a.m. The arts fest is free. You’ll find details on the website.
