The World Beer Festival aims to capitalize on our fair city’s growing interest in all things beer. Last year’s event, which took place on the docks behind FirstEnergy Stadium, was a huge success. This year’s event, which takes place at Jacobs Pavilion at Nautica, promises to be even bigger and better. General admission tickets are $40 and include a tasting glass and 40 taste tickets so you can sample some of the 200 beers that will be available. VIP admission tickets are available at $75 and offer the same number of taste tickets along with a bonus hour of admission, access to a private hospitality area with private bathrooms, an upscale food buffet and a bonus selection of rare beers not available to the general public. The festival takes place from 1 to 5 p.m. VIP ticket holders can start getting their drink on at noon. (Niesel)
