Here’s about the best reason ever to get out of bed: Beginning at 7 a.m., Greenhouse Tavern pastry chef Matt Danko will be on the Noodlecat patio frying up batches of doughnuts! If that doesn’t pop open your peepers, consider some of the flavors he’ll be slinging: spicy honey bacon, cinnamon, and our personal fave, “Kill Chocolate Kill:” a triple-threat cocoa bomb of bitter, milk, and salty chocolates. The gourmet goodies will be priced at $1.75 to $3 each, $12 for a half dozen, or $25 for a baker’s dozen. To go with, staffers will be serving coffee, tea, and — yes! — beer, making this as perfect an eye-opener as any Homer Simpson clone could crave. But don’t dilly dally: When the doughnuts are gone, Danko & Co. will close up shop, leaving you alone with nothing but that stale bagel in the bottom of your desk drawer.
