Bring your lawn chair and cooler to Wade Oval in University Circle on Saturday, June 16, and stake out a spot on the lawn to watch The Cleveland Blues play Forest City, 19th-century “base ball” style.
WRHS is sponsoring this vintage game on the Oval that will be played by the rules of the time period 1860-1869. That means gear of wood, leather, cast iron or ceramic; period uniforms; and period language used on the field during play. They even play barehanded (including the catcher!) and use homemade wooden bats.
