Eleanor Armstrong Smith Glasshouse
It's a crystal-peaked, $37 million conservatory with two parts: a hot, humid Madagascar desert with a 30-foot imitation baobab tree and a cool, dry Costa Rican rain forest with a 40-foot imitation strangler fig. Live insects, such as the tailless whipscorpions and butterflies, inhabit the 18,000-square-foot exhibit.
