When: Tue., June 10, 8:30 p.m. and Wed., June 11, 8:30 p.m. 2014
After the Black Crowes decided to take another hiatus a few years back, frontman Chris Robinson and keyboardist Adam MacDougall began working on a new project. But instead of heading straight to the studio, they assembled a band and toured the country testing out some new songs. The resulting band, Chris Robinson Brotherhood, released its first album, Big Moon Ritual in 2012. It’s a collection of ’60s- and ’70s-inspired psych-rock that channels the Rolling Stones, the Byrds, and Gram Parsons. The band’s excellent new album, Phosphorescent Harvest, mines the same musical vein. Robinson & Co. have held down a two-night stand in town in the past; expect to hear different set lists each night. (Niesel)
