ALO/Ryan Montbleau

Likely the smoothest, grooviest and most infectious band you’re not listening to, ALO (Animal Liberation Orchestra) boasts a three-album catalog that’s deeper than it appears on first blush. Last year’s Sounds Like This shows a band that’s starting to hit a level of comfort and talent that they’ve been ascending toward for years. Each song is a full-bodied elixir unto itself. “Falling Dominoes” presents the gawddamn-ya-gotta-dance! range of musicianship available at every turn on the album. Also, the delightful growing pains of 2010’s Man of the World account for mandatory listening this week. (Cue up the title track and rock out.) Ryan Montbleau Band will open this evening’s festivities. Take this to the bank, folks: You don’t want to miss this show. (Eric Sandy)
