Alison Krauss

Known for years on the fiddle and bluegrass circuit, Alison Krauss gained more mainstream appreciation with prime features on the O Brother, Where Art Thou? soundtrack in 2000. Since then the artist has gone on to record with rock legend Robert Plant, garnering Grammy awards for Album of the Year and Record of the Year in 2009. With her latest solo album, Windy City, released last year, Krauss digs into her country roots, without getting too twangy in her classically clear vocals, covering songs from Willie Nelson, Brenda Lee and more. Her passionate cover of Roger Miller's ballad "River in the Rain" is especially moving. Expect to hear a little of all these works during tonight's performance. (Laura Morrison)
