Adult Books

Adult Books is Los Angeles punk produced by Smiths fans. Their self-titled EP, Released in 2013, Adult Books self-titled EP features surf-tinged garage rock with thick, slogging bass lines that make the group come off like a male version of the band Bleached. Running from the Blows, their first full-length, has a dream pop overlay along the lines of up-and-comers DIIV. The band likes to document the L.A. scene with the lyrics, isolating and characterizing stereotypical cultural microcosms on tracks like “Silver Lake Goths” and “Nihilism for Beginners.” (Bethany Kaufman)
