A Woman on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown

The Lives of Others' Martina Gedeck stars in this psychological drama about a woman who suddenly becomes trapped in the mountains while on a hike in the Alps. Based on a Marlen Haushofer novel, the film comes off as something like an episode of the Twilight Zone as the nameless woman becomes trapped behind an invisible wall and is forced to live off the earth and rely upon her dog for companionship. Eventually, we learn she is attempting to deal with some kind of trauma and bits of her past are slowly revealed. The film shows at 7 tonight and at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday at the Cleveland Museum of Art. Tickets are $9. (Niesel)
