15th Annual Distinguished Lecture in Greek and Byzantine Art

Today from 2 to 3 p.m. at the Cleveland Museum of Art, professor Antony Eastmond, A. G. Leventis Professor of Byzantine Art History and Dean and Deputy Director of the Courtauld Institute of Art at the University of London, will give the 15th annual Distinguished Lecture in Greek and Byzantine Art. He'll talk about the Byzantine artist as creator, bureaucrat and copyist and direct the discussion on the Cleveland Saint Luke, "an exquisite portrait of the saint from an 11th-century manuscript that shows him in a very different guise. Admission is free, but a ticket is required. Register in advance through the Cleveland Museum of Art website. (Niesel)
