West Side Story chronicles the battles between two brawling New York gangs. Directed by Robert Wise and Jerome Robbins, the 1961 film won 10 Academy Awards. Tonight at 7 at Severance Hall, the Cleveland Orchestra plays Leonard Bernstein’s score live while the re-mastered film shows in hi-def on the big screen with the original vocals and dialog. Guest speaker Bill Rudman, artistic director with the Musical Theater Project, gives the pre-concert talk beginning one hour before the concert.
