Welser-Möst Conducts Mahler's Third Symphony

Composer Gustav Mahler maintained that a symphony “must be like the world, it must embrace everything.” With that in mind, he wrote his Third Symphony in order to create a “great hymn to the glory of every aspect of creation.” Tonight at 7:30 at Severance Hall, conductor Franz Welser-Möst leads the Cleveland Orchestra as it performs the piece.
