Last year’s Waterloo Arts Fest drew more than 5,000 attendees, a sure sign that the eastside neighborhood is making a comeback. This year’s event, which takes place from noon until 7 p.m. on Waterloo Road in the Waterloo Arts District, features more of the same mix of music, food and art that has made this into the neighborhood’s signature event. Some bands will perform on an outdoor stage while the Beachland Ballroom and Tavern will have local acts such as the Hedgehog’s Dilemma, Goodmorning Valentine, So Long Albatross and the Commonwealth perform on an indoor stage in the tavern. The club owners will also host a rock ’n’ roll flea market starting at noon in the bigger ballroom. Admission to the Beachland and to the festival is free. (Jeff Niesel)
