Walter Beasley

Sax legend Walter Beasley begins a three-night run at Nighttown tonight. His approach to smooth jazz has lofted him toward the pinnacle of the contemporary jazz scene, and his latest release, Live in the Club, displays his versatility on the sax while showing off his leadership skills at the helm of a terrific band. Beasley’s tone is rich throughout and smoky when he needs it to be. Check out “Groove In You” for a dose of fusion and Beasley’s penchant for jaunty lead work.
