Thrills and Chills

Alfred Hitchcock’s Vertigo is one of the greatest thrillers of all time. Part of what makes it such a remarkable achievement is composer Bernard Herrmann’s score. Herrmann worked closely with Hitchcock on the film that centers on how police detective John “Scottie” Ferguson (James Stewart) becomes afflicted with vertigo during a rooftop chase. Tonight at 8, the film will be projected on a large screen above the Severance Hall stage while the Cleveland Orchestra plays the original score. Tickets are $40. (Niesel)
