The Wizard of Oz

This new production of The Wizard of Oz promises to be an "enchanting adaptation of the all-time classic, totally re-conceived for the stage." Developed from the MGM screenplay, the play includes new songs by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber. All the characters — Scarecrow, Tin Man, Lion, Dorothy and Toto — appear as well. The play opens tonight at 7:30 at the State Theatre. Performances continue through Dec. 6. Tickets are $10 to $80. (Niesel)
