The Spook Who Sat by the Door

This 1973 adaptation of Sam Greenlee's novel about resistance and militancy centers on a Black man who's recruited into the CIA's espionage program. Disillusioned by the program, he organizes a revolution in Chicago. Director Ivan Dixon’s daughter Nomathandé Dixon, Aseelah Shareef from Karamu House, and filmmaker Robert Banks will join a post-screening discussion after the movie shows at 6:30 p.m. at the Cleveland Institute of Cinematheque.
