The 1940 Disney film Fantasia helped introduce the masses to classical music, so it makes sense that the Cleveland Orchestra would revisit the movie. Tonight at 7:30 at Severance Hall, the orchestra will perform selections from both Fantasia and Disney Fantasia 2000 while scenes from the movies are screened. Expect to hear classic tracks such as “Waltz of the Flowers” from The Nutcracker, portions of Beethoven’s “Pastoral” Symphony, and Dukas’ “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice,” while Mickey Mouse tries on the sorcerer’s hat and wreaks havoc. Tickets start at $35. (Niesel)
