The Kids Are Not Alright

Experimental indie filmmaker Harmony Korine made his directorial debut with Gummo, a movie about a group of kids living in abject poverty. Everything and everyone in this polarizing film seems to be covered with a layer of grime. Artist and filmmaker TR Ericcson will be on hand to explain why we should like the movie. It screens at 9:25 tonight at the Cleveland Institute of Art Cinematheque. Tickets are $9. (Niesel)
