The Blade of the Immortal

Last year, prolific Japanese director Takashi Miike delivered his 100th film with Blade of the Immortal. The film, which features elaborate sword fights and gruesome battle scenes, centers on a samurai who helps a young girl avenge the death of her family. It makes its local theatrical debut at 4:15 p.m. today at the Cleveland Institute of Art Cinematheque. Tickets are $10, or $7 for Cinematheque members and students. (Niesel)
