Tanlines, the indie pop meets electronica duo from Brooklyn, has a sound that's almost like a mix between Matt and Kim and the XX. Released earlier this year, their newest album Highlights features songs like “Slipping Away” and “Pieces.” “Slipping Away” is a beachy indie rock song that sounds like something straight out of an independent film about teenagers. “Pieces” is reminiscent of Gotye with the sounds of electronica thrown in.
