Yelling “Play Free Bird” at tonight's Vicious Cycle show at Rockin’ On The River may actually elicit a response from this Lynyrd Skynyrd tribute band. No other southern rock band has such a devoted following and inspired so many rebel flags to be mounted on the back of pickup trucks — that’s the American dream. Even if you don't adhere to the band's Confederate beliefs, it's hard to dislike a group whose songs get stuck in your head. I mean, who doesn’t cry a little during “Simple Man” with a lighter raised in the air? Ohio might not be "sweet home Alabama," but there’s no doubt there’s some Southern love in the state.
