Slayer/Suicidal Tendencies/Exodus

One of the "Big Four" speed/thrash metal acts, Slayer has had quite a reign. Fronted by singer-bassist Tom Araya, the band plays with a real fierceness that's virtually unrivaled. While the band's never achieved Metallica-like success, that doesn't diminish the significance of albums such as 1986's Reign in Blood and 1988's South of Heaven, seminal releases that inspired a new generation of hard rockers. Earlier this year, the band debuted "Implode," its first new material in five years. It's currently working on recording a new album that has a 2015 release date. Guitarist Jeff Hanneman, who passed away last year, reportedly contributed several of the songs that will be on the new disc. (Niesel)
