Rust Belt Empire: A Conversation with Anne Trubek

This event will explore the roots of Belt Publishing, a regional publishing empire with the substantial mission to witness, celebrate, investigate, and excavate Midwestern and rust belt issues and populations. Anne Trubek is the founder of Belt Magazine and Belt Publishing. Belt Magazine is a digital publication that includes reportage, personal essays, interviews, and poetry concerning the Rust Belt and the greater Midwest. Belt Publishing began with the publication of city anthologies (Cleveland, Youngstown, Milwaukee) and has expanded to include “Neighborhood Guidebooks” and “Belt Revivals” (previously published work by notables such as Charles W. Chesnutt and Willa Cather).
