Rock Opera Restoration

A hit album that became a Broadway musical and a feature film, Jesus Christ Superstar is the rock opera of all rock operas. Tonight at 7 at the Cleveland Institute of Art Cinematheque, three of the film’s stars — Ted Neeley, Barry Dennen and Bob Bingham, who respectively starred as Jesus, Pontius Pilate and Caiaphas — will introduce a new digital restoration of the movie. They’ll also answer questions in a half-hour session that takes place before the film screens at 7:30 p.m. After the screening, they’ll hang out to sign autographs. Tickets are $12. (Niesel)
