Robyn Hitchcock

When British singer-songwriter Robyn Hitchcock played the Music Box nearly four years ago, our review of the show noted that he kept things engaging with some particularly inspired banter as "one bizarre, hilarious turn of phrase after the other balanced passionate performances of “The Wreck of Arthur Lee” and “Only Stones Remain.” Hitchcock played songs he had played with the Egyptians in the late ‘80s and early ‘90s and also dug back into his Soft Boys catalog. Two years ago, he released a self-titled effort that expanded his catalog of quirkiness with songs such as the dissonant "Virginia Woolf" and the gentle "1979 in Aspic." Expect some of those songs to find their way into tonight's set. (Niesel)
