Cleveland Public Theatre’s annual Big Box series consistently breaks new ground with works of theater, dance, music and other performances impossible to pigeonhole. Offering artists a place to have their pieces become a reality, CPT brings artist and audience together for a collective learning and entertainment experience. This week’s performance features The Importance of Waiting for the Eagle by retired Cleveland schoolteacher Robert Hawkes. When the eagle dumps a weekly helping of Zeus’ wrath upon Prometheus (for giving humans the secret to making fire), a strange friendship develops between the two, and provides an opportunity to explore the nature of both gods and man. The show starts tonight at 7; performances run through Saturday. The Big Box series continues until March 22 with a new play each week; performances are held in CPT’s James Levin Theatre. Tickets are $12 to $18. (Stoops)
