Quire Cleveland, Jay White conducting. "Journey Home: Finding Unity After Loss."

Quire performs settings of the Lamentations of Jeremiah by the Renaissance English composers Thomas Tallis (c1505-1585) and Robert White (1538-1574), traditionally heard during the Tenebrae services preceding Easter. Their message asks for the restoration of a community that has lost its home. The texts of these Lamentations, offered in the days just after Ash Wednesday – at the beginning of the Lenten season – provide awareness of the trials and tribulations that plague our modern world and of those who immigrated to the Cleveland area over a century ago. A freewill offering will be taken (suggested donation $25 per person).
