Small, wiry, and intense, Cleveland poet Vladimir Swirynsky looks like a man with some mileage on him. Then again, you don’t create fifteen books of poetry without going around the block a few times. Yet distance hasn’t dimmed his enthusiasm for his latest tome, Last Call to Escape Planet Earth. “I think this is the best one ever,” says the itinerant poet who gives readings around the country. “I’ve had time to think about writing and where I am at. I can see things as they actually are, and I can write about stuff that has changed my life.” If you are curious about what Swirynsky includes in that category, drop by Mac’s Backs Books on Coventry tonight for a reading and book signing. Joining Swirynsky will be Pennsylvania poet Jason Schlosser. The words start flowing at 7 p.m. It’s free.
