Out of This World

In honor of Cleveland Institute of Art Cinematheque regular and volunteer Christina Gaston, who died earlier this year, the Cinematheque will screen one of her favorite films, 2001’s The American Astronaut, a campy film about a guy (played by the film’s director Cory McAbee) who travels the solar system. The frontman for the rock act the Billy Nayer Show, McAbee also wrote and performed the tunes that appear in the flick. It screens tonight at 7 and prior to the screening a group of Gaston’s friends will prepare a brief tribute to their deceased friend. (Jeff Niesel)
