On the Dark Side

Cleveland Public Theatre's Big Box series consistently breaks new ground. Spawning new works of theater, dance, music and others impossible to pigeonhole, this exciting collection of live theatre is always a unique experience. Offering artists a place to have their pieces become a reality, CPT brings artist and audience together for a collective learning and entertaining experience. This weekend's performance features two plays. In Funnel Cakes Not Included, suicidal depression gets explored through an amusement park. Alternately, the dance piece Two Kinds of Light explores the conflicting halves of the human soul. With both pieces exploring the darker side of the human condition, it's bound to be a thought-provoking evening. The Big Box series runs Thursdays through Saturdays at 7 p.m. through March 22 with a new play each week. Tickets are $12 to $18. (Patrick Stoops)
