They wrote it, produced it and directed it. Tonight, the team of college-aged students performs it at the Near West Theatre at 7:30 p.m. "It" is an original musical titled Octets, which — if the press release is to be believed — sounds kind of like a blend of Romeo and Juliet, West Side Story, and Glee, wherein "everyone must decide if they want to win or lose, but the answer isn't as obvious as you might think." The show, which was initially conceived by two Miami University students, has been in development for almost two years. The production finally hit the road this spring as a full-fledged, two-act musical event. The 10-day Ohio Octets Tour has already taken the company to Cincinnati, Oxford, Dayton and Columbus; it winds up tonight on Gordon Square. Tickets range from $8 to $20, plus service fee, and can be had on the website, below. (Elaine T. Cicora)
