Nine Lives

This multidisciplinary artistic response to the 2015 shooting at Emanuel AME Church in Charleston, S.C. invokes the history of African American music and also includes a tribute to James Baldwin, performances by area students, and a celebration of Cleveland jazz. Created by Kent State University composer Chris Coles in collaboration with multiple musicians. This event is co-sponsored by the Cleveland Humanities Festival.
