Music for the Masses

An annual Christmas tradition continues tonight at Trinity Cathedral as Quire Cleveland performs Messe de Minuit pour Noël by French baroque composer Marc-Antoine Charpentier. Composed in the 1690s, its melodies are popular French carols, which Charpentier weaves throughout the different movements. The concert begins at 7:30 and tickets range from $20 to $30. Additional concerts take place tomorrow at Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Old Brooklyn and on Sunday at historic St. Peter Church. (Niesel)
