Moutin Reunion Quartet

Twin brothers Louis and François Moutin, virtuosic players on drums and upright bass, lead the neo-bop jazz outfit, Moutin Reunion Quartet. The group’s 2009 release Soul Dancers is a fantastic rendition of standard tunes, paying homage to great jazz performers like Jaco Pastorias. Check out “Monks Medley,” a brilliantly executed drum and bass rendition of several Thelonius Monk tunes. The Moutin Factory Quintet’s latest release Lucky People contains some great contemporary jazz, showcasing virtuosic playing while retaining a focused melodic structure.
