Singer-songwriter Morgan James famously signed a record deal a mere week before recording her first solo album, 2012's Morgan James Live: A Celebration of Nina Simone. James, who dabbles in pop, folk, rock and jazz, performs tonight at 7:30 at Music Box Supper Club.
