Mentor Powerboat Grand Prix

A summer tradition, powerboat racing returns to Headlands Beach in Mentor this weekend in the form of the third annual Mentor Powerboat Grand Prix. Fans will have the opportunity to meet race teams at the Great Lakes Mall today from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Downtown Willoughby will also host the boats from 7:30 to 10 p.m. tomorrow. The racing action will take place on Sunday when more than 20 powerboats will compete at speeds approaching 180 miles per hour. The races will begin at noon at Headlands Beach.
