Meet Author Daisy Pitkin

Ohio-born author Daisy Pitkin has spent more than 20 years as a community and union organizer, working first in support of garment workers around the world. She grew up in rural Ohio and received her MFA from the University of Arizona. Today, Pitkin lives in Pittsburgh where she works as an organizer with an offshoot of the union UNITE. Here latest book, On the Line, chronicles a five-year campaign to bring a union to the industrial laundry factories in Phoenix. Today at 7 p.m., she speaks at the Parma-Powers Branch of the Cuyahoga County Public Library.
