The one-act opera, Mary Chesnut, by Cleveland composer Steven Mark Kohn, tells the true life story of one woman's journey through one of the most traumatic events in American history, the "war between the states", providing a rare glimpse into a personal experience of the horror of war from a woman's perspective. Based on the Pulitzer prize winning book,"A Diary from Dixie", by Mary Chesnut. Presented by ContempOpera Cleveland. Hosted by Cleveland Public Theatre.
